SARAH K. COVINGTON

Sarah K. Covington of the 2600 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd., a retired nurse, died April 24, 1995, in Norfolk.

Mrs. Covington was born in Wilson, N.C. She retired from the U.S. Public Service Hospital on Hampton Boulevard after 38 years, was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and the widow of Frederick D. Covington.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lydie B. Doxie and Ann L. Brown, both of Norfolk; three sisters, Susie Knight of Wilson, N.C., Ella Cromartie of Philadelphia, Pa., and Willie Mae Alston of Norfolk; three brothers, J.P. Mack of Springhope, N.C., Frank Jones of Washington, D.C., and Lloyd Alston of Norfolk; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk, by Dr. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at Metropolitan Funeral Service from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today and at 2610 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, at 1 p.m. Saturday for funeral processional to the church.
