RUBY W. WALLACE

Ruby Lee Woolard Wallace, 85, a resident of Route 4, Mill Hole Road, died Wednesday, April 26, 1995, at Beaufort County Hospital.

Mrs. Wallace was born in Beaufort County on Oct. 23, 1909. She was the daughter of the late Joe Gray Woolard Sr. and Sally Singleton Woolard. She was a homemaker, a member of the Beaver Dam Church of Christ, the Ladies Circle and Women's Union. On Dec. 17, 1930, she married Ervin Lidway Wallace, who preceded her in death, July 1, 1994.

Surviving are two sons, Donald G. Wallace of Washington and Rupert R. Wallace of Chesapeake; one daughter, Reba W. Hamilton of Greensboro; four sisters including her twin sister, Ruth Gray W. Swain of Washington, Nellie W. Lee of Washington, Alethia W. Shorter of Norfolk, Va., and Ola Dean W. Goff of Rocky Mount; one brother, Joe Gray Woolard Jr. of Greensboro; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchidlren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington, conducted by Richard Smartnick and Dr. William F. Ambrose. Burial will be in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, and other times at her home, Route 4, Box 429, Mill Hole Road, Washington. Memorials may be made to the Roanoke Christian Service Camp, P.O. Box 1134, Washington, N.C. 27889, or to the Atlanta Christian College, 2605 Ben Hill Road, East Point, Ga. 30344-1999.
