NORFOLK STATE University's Tim Reid Celebrity Weekend brings stars to the Spartan campus. One of this year's featured guests is Cook County, Illinois commissioner Jerry Butler. When the third-term politician is away from the office he returns to his most familiar role - as ``The Iceman.''
Butler formed the Impressions with Curtis Mayfield in 1958, then went on to a solo career with such hits as ``Only the Strong Survive.'' Get ready for the high flying grand finale of the International Azalea Festival taking off this weekend at Naval Air Station, Norfolk. The theme for this year's Air Show is ``Reflections of Victory'' and it pays tribute to those who served in World War II. It features vintage aircraft on display and executing dizzying aerobatic maneuvers. Performers include the North American Aerobatic Team, Clancy Speal and the PIA Pitts Special, Manfred Radius Glider aerobatics, Great Britain's Red Devils Parachute Regiment Free Fall Team and the Triple-Engine Jet Truck, ``Shockwave.''
