Regarding ``2nd language of choice'' (news, April 10): I am a senior at Old Dominion University studying international business. For a learning institution to consider lowering or eliminating foreign languages in an increasing global environment is ridiculous.
I had the pleasure of learning German from Frau Meier along with two other gentlemen with whom I work.
I feel sorry for shortsighted people who do not try a language such as German or French. And as for the senior in the article stating she does not have a use for a foreign language, I personally know a dozen psych majors who work in fields not even remotely related to psychology.
