GRANT ALLOWS MEXICAN STUDY

Tidewater Community College will send 12 faculty members to Mexico June 25 to July 22 for a four-week study tour.

The Fulbright-Hays Group grant is from the U.S. Department of Education and is the second one granted to TCC. The previous one allowed college faculty to visit the Czech Republic in the summer of 1993.

In addition to TCC, the travelers will include instructors from the Dabney S. Lancaster, J. Sargeant Reynolds, Northern Virginia, Southwest Virginia and Thomas Nelson community colleges.

Primary purpose of the trip is to enable faculty members to obtain up-to-date information and cultural materials on Mexico's economics, politics, cultural adaptations and societal and religious changes. by CNB
