Sam Rogers, Norfolk's director of marketing, will serve as part of a delegation to the 1995 White House Conference on Travel and Tourism in October. Representative Owen Pickett, D-Va., appointed Rogers.
The White House conference will bring together 1,600 delegates from the nation's travel and tourism industry, representing public and private interests.
They will discuss a wide spectrum of issues, from removing barriers to international tourism to safety and security problems for local, national and international tourists.
The conference will address the United States' share of the world's travel and tourism market and ways of making the country more competitive for worldwide tourism and revenue. by CNB
