Gloria J. Whitfield, 49, of the first block of Elm Ave., died April 28, 1995, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
She was a native of Windsor, Va., and was a supervisor at Luters Meat Packing. She was a member of Christ Temple COGIC and was in the church's Missionary Circle.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Whitfield of Suffolk; two daughters, Barbara Whitfield of Norfolk, and Evelyn Whitfield Davis of Portsmouth; two sons, Melvin Whitfield Jr. and Stevie Whitfield, both of Portsmouth; and 17 grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Christ Temple Church of God in Christ, Deep Creek and Evergreen Corner, by Bishop J.H. Coppage. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park. Viewing will be today from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, Inc., and Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 66 Elm Ave. at 1:15 p.m. for the processional to the church.
