Venita Deaton Cummings, 72, died Sunday, April 30, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
She was born in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Sam and Annie Mink Deaton and the widow of the late retired Lt. Cdr. Charles Frank Cummings.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Cummings of Nags Head; a son, Frank Cummings of Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters, Aline Farnsworth of North Port, Ala., and Annie Jo Lupton of Portsmouth, Va.; and a granddaughter, Shamra Warren.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Church Street, Elizabeth City. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
