Robert Thomas Copeland, 60, of the 5700 block of Indian Trail, died April 30, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
He was a native of Nansemond County, and was a retired electrician for General Electric Corp. He retired in 1989 after 18 years of service. He was a member of Holland Baptist Chruch and was an Army veteran. He was a charter member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, Suffolk Chapter, Tom Smith Camp.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Lowe Copeland; one daughter, Sharon C. Beale of Suffolk; one son, Thomas N. Copeland of Suffolk; two sisters, Virginia C. Kues of Smithfield and Edith C. Fischer of Newport News; two brothers, Benjamin R. Copeland Jr. and Frederick A. Copeland, both of Suffolk; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Annie Bosselman and Benjamin Riddick Copeland Sr.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Ed Sunday-Winters and the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tueday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Holland Vounteer Fire Department.
