Melba B. Hewitt, 69, of the 1900 block of Colonial Ave., died April 29, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mrs. Hewitt was a native of Louisiana. She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. She was a retired buyer for The Famous Ladies Apparel in Portsmouth.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlyn H. Belcher of Norfolk, and Nikki H. Stephenson of Mobile, Ala.; and three grandchildren, Courtney E. Belcher of Norfolk, and Nathan L. Stephenson and Nicole M. Stephenson, both of Mobile, Ala.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, May 3, in Alexander Funeral Home, Lutcher, La. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge of local arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Eastern Virginia Medical School, P.O. Box 1980, Norfolk, Va. 23501-1980.
