Mattie Ellis, 90, of the 100 block of Marcy St., died April 30, 1995.
She was born in Perquimans County, N.C. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sadie C. Jones.
Survivors include grandchildren, Steve and Veronica Jones of Chesapeake, Carl and Cheryl Washington and Delphine High, all of Portsmouth, Carter Jones of Suffolk, and Jacqueline Brown of Newport News; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted May 4, 1995, at 1 p.m. by the Rev. David Allen Sr. in Mount Nebo RZUA, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 101 Marcy St., Portsmouth, on Thursday at 12:15 p.m. for the processional to the church.
