Robert Thomas Copeland, 60, of the 5700 block of Indian Trail, died April 30, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
He was a native of Nansemond County, and was a retired electrician for General Electric Corp. He retired in 1989 after 18 years of service. He was a member of Holland Baptist Chruch and was an Army veteran. He was a charter member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, Suffolk Chapter, Tom Smith Camp. He is predeceased by his parents, Annie Bosselman and Benjamin Riddick Copeland Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Lowe Copeland; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon C. and Michael Beale of Suffolk; one son and daughter-in-law, Timothy W. and Stacey Copeland of Suffolk; two sisters, Virginia C. Kues of Smithfield and Edith C. Fischer of Newport News; two brothers, Benjamin R. Copeland Jr. and Frederick A. Copeland, both of Suffolk; two granddaughters, Jessica Copeland and Stephanie Copeland; mother-in-law, Hattie B. Holland; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Ed Sunday-Winters and the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Holland Volunteer Fire Department or the Holland Baptist Church Building Fund.
