Lenora McThatter Brown, 79, of the 300 block of Roosevelt Ave., died April 30, 1995, in Southampton Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was a native of Wagram, N.C. She was predeceased by her parents, Will and Rosetta McThatter, and her husband, Austin Brown Sr. She was a housewife and a member of White Oak Spring Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Austin Brown Jr of Franklin, Va., and Harvey Lee Brown of Newport News Va.; two daughters, Evelyn White of Cozville, Va., and Mildred Blow of Richmond, Va.; three brothers, Lacy McThatter, Willie McThatter and Eddie McThatter, all of Fayetteville, N.C.; seven sisters, Annie Mae McCart of Laurburg, N.C., Littie J. Wallace of Baltimore, Md., Rosa Mae Chavis of Radford, N.C., Ollie Bathune of Fayetteville, N.C., Odessa Morris of Baltimore, Md., Gertrude Rice of Baltimore, Md., and Catherine Patterson of Baltimore, Md.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in White Oak Spring Baptist Church by the Rev. Eddie Lee. Burial will be in White Oak Spring Cemetery. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home is in charge.
