Dorothy Net Wiley Yates, 83, of the 3500 block of Bapaume Ave., died May 1, 1995, in Sentara Nursing Center.
Mrs. Yates was born in Kitrell, N.C., and was a retired nurses aide for Lake Taylor Hospital. She was the widow of Mr. John Yates. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Norfolk, and a member of the United Order of Tents C.J. Hines Faith and Trust (NU)766.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Burrell of Chesapeake and Mrs. Dorothy L. Hamlin of Norfolk; grandchildren, Patrica Tavers, Reginald Yates, Horace Burrell, all of Norfolk, Deborah Providence, Wendy Ford and 1st Lt. Douglas Burrell, all of Chesapeake, Byron Burrell and Andre Burrell of Upper Merboro, Md., Sgt. Edwin L. Burrell Jr. of Abilene, Texas; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday, May 6, 1995, at 1 p.m. by the Rev. John H. Foster in Shiloh Baptist Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Riddick Funeral Service in charge. Viewing will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
