ROBERT E. WHITE SR.

Robert E. White Sr., 64, of the 100 block of Underwood Road, owner and president of Carey VIP and Celebrity Limousines, Inc., died May 1, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. White was a native of Richmond, Va., and a resident of Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Williamsburg for many years. In 1977, he established Celebrity Limousines. It was the first limousine service in Tidewater. In the early 1980s, the company grew to VIP and Celebrity Limousines with offices in Norfolk and Williamsburg. It is currently the largest limousine service in Tidewater and has been ranked in the top 50 limousine servics in the nation.

Mr. White was a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Tidewater SKAL, Old Dominion Historical Fire Society, Co-founder of the Winchester, Virginia Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, and a former member of the Ocean Park Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, and past commodore of the Kingsmill Yacht Club.

Survivors include his wife, Roxie Houff White of Williamsburg; a son, Robbie White and his wife, Mariah, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a foster sister, Mary Jane Kennerly of Richmond; and two grandchildren, Yves and Mallory White.

A chapel service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 5, 1995, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond. The family will receive friends in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lynnhaven Flotilla (NU)57 U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, 3508 Ballylinn Court, Virginia Beach, Va. 23464 or the Memorial Fund of the Old Dominion Historical Fire Society, P.O.
