John Coley, 63, died May 2, 1995, in Presbyterian Hospital.
Mr. Coley was born in Portsmouth and was a retired machinist and welder. He was a Charlotte resident since 1956 and attended Temple of the Living Word. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Geraldine Coley; two daughters, Debroa Whitley and Sandra Massey, both of Charlotte; a son, John Coley of Charlotte; a sister, Mary-Elizabeth Askew of Chesapeake, Va.; two brothers, Henry Coley of Chesapeake and Charlie Coley of Raleigh; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Coley and Sam Coley.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Temple of the Living Word. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m today in Hankins & Whittington Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Temple of the Living Word, Roofing Fund, 4500 Glenwood Drive, Charlotte, N.C. 28208.
