Robert M. Beck, 76, a retired U.S. Postal Service employee, died May 2, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mr. Beck was born in Baltimore and was Jewish. He was the widower of Sylvia Peltzman Beck. He was retired after 20 years and was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers of New York and the Brooklyn Jewish Postal Workers Association. He did community service work as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Mr. Beck was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Polzin of Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, Mallory Beck of Tampa, Fla., and Nelson Beck of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Sheri Vincennie of Jacksonville, Fla., Kerry Beck and Kevin Beck, both of Tampa, Fla.; a great-grandchild, Joseph Vincennie III of Jacksonville; and a niece, Nancy Woomer of Ayers, Mass.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
