Mary Jo Cornwell, 65, of the 500 block of Nottingham Road, died May 2, 1995, in her residence.
Mrs. Cornwell was a native of New York. She was past president of American Legion Auxiliary Post (NU)204 and former chairman of the Women's Softball League at Olive Branch.
Survivors include her husband, Hoard T. Cornwell Jr.; two daughters, Kathryn Cornwell and her husband, Jeff Stark of Norfolk, and Sandy Cornwell Panton of Portsmouth; a son, Phillip Cornwell of Chesapeake; a sister, Kathy Simmons of Wickliffe, Ohio; two brothers, Duane Middleton of Arizona and Walter Middleton of Illinois; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Panton.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. John A. Bright. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. She was loved by her family and friends and will be missed.
