CLOSE THE BOOKS ON LITTLE RASCALS CASE

This committee applauds the just decision of the North Carolina Court of Appeals in overturning the convictions of Bob Kelly and Dawn Wilson on charges of molesting children at the Little Rascals day care in Edenton. The appellate court's ruling is the first sign of rationality that North Carolina has demonstrated in the Little Rascals case in seven years.

The witch hunt that began in Edenton seven years ago should now be over. We call on the state to close its books on this fiasco as gracefully as possible.

The seven falsely accused people who have endured this state-sponsored torment for all these years should now be permitted to rebuild their lives.

Compassionate people everywhere should lend whatever assistance they can to these seven to help them put their lives back together.

the Edenton Seven
