Dorothy Antley Francis, 86, of the first block of Church St., died May 4, 1995, in her residence.
Mrs. Francis was born in Orangeburg, S.C., and was the widow of William Carlton Francis Sr. She was a member of Windsor Baptist Church, the L.T. Hall (NU)2 Sunday School Class, the Lucy Dean Circle and Women's Missionary Union. She was a secretary to the principal of Windsor High School from 1952 to 1963, the high school librarian from 1963 to 1965 and the elementary school librarian from 1965 to 1967.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William C. Francis Jr. and Kay Francis, both of Windsor; two grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary Lillian Boger Antley and Addie O. Antley, a sister, Margaret A. Simpson, and a brother, Thomas B. Antley.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. James B. Crocker. Burial will be in Conway Cemetery, Conway, N.C. The family will receive friends at the residence and suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Windsor Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 483, Windsor, Va. 23487.
