Helen D. McRae, 85, of the 4000 block of Taylor Road, died May 4, 1995, in Maryview Nursing Center.
Mrs. McRae was born in Smythe County, N.C., and was the widow of James A. McRae Sr. She was a member of Churchland Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth M. Dudley of Norfolk; two sons, James A. McRae Jr. of Norfolk and Paul Edwards McRae of Elizabeth City, N.C.; six sisters, Elizabeth Tilley of Marion, Va., Louise McClung of West Palm Beach, Fla., Ada Powers of Norfolk, Polly Furr of Fredericksburg, Muriel Honkins of Richmond and Nancy Saunders of Meridian, Miss.; two brothers, Sanders Dungan of Roanoke and Payne Dungan of Chesapeake; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, William Dungan.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Churchland Baptist Church by Dr. R. Clint Hopkins. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Churchland Baptist Church Organ Fund.
