DOROTHY S. ALBERT

Dorothy Ann Spencer Albert, 77, of the 1100 block of E. Chesslawn Circle, died Wednesday, May 4, 1995, at her residence.

Mrs. Albert was born in Tusrola, Mich., and was the daughter of the late Homer and Lottie Burns Spencer. She was the widow of William John Albert and was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Chesapeake. Her memberships include the Women's Division of the Chesapeake Chamber of Commerce, Chesapeake General Hospital Auxiliary, charter member and corresponding secretary of the Tidewater Doll Club of Virginia; Doll Study Club of Tidewater and the United Federation of Doll Clubs Inc.

Mrs. Albert was also a member for the past 10 years of the Hampton Roads Obedience Club. She was the owner of Frederica, K9 Good Citizen Dog and a registered therapy dog for the ill and elderly. Mrs. Albert regularly visited Georgian Manor at Riverwalk, Sentara Oak Grove Nursing Center and Village, First Colonial Inn and Retirement Village and Thornton Hall on Norview Avenue in Norfolk.

Survivors include her daughter, Sondra Elizabeth Locklear of Sanford, N.C.; her son, Dewey Elton Leggett Albert of Chesapeake; two sisters, Thelma Taylor of Madison Heights, Va. and Mary Flint of Richmond; two brothers, Alvin Spencer of Pamplin, Va. and Bob Spencer of Richmond; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at noon Monday in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Barbara Blakemore. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Health Care Foundation, Radiology Oncology Center, Chesapeake General Hospital.
