The scathing letter written by Terry Scott (The Clipper, April 28) indicates he has an ax to grind against Mr. Robert T. Nance Jr.
It's my prerogative to disagree with the character sketch of our new vice mayor.
As a senior citizen (very senior!) and a widow of a Naval officer killed in action, I normally don't have time to respond to insignificant drivel.
My philosophy is that life is too short to run down my fellow man.
I've never met Mr. Nance. In a brief call to him, he graciously came to my assistance during a period of dire need.
I have no power to assist the status of Mr. Nance, yet he kindly stepped out in faith and became a blessing.
Terry Scott states, ``They should have filled the post with a man who had more formal education.'' Since when has good old native intelligence and common sense gone out of style?
Please, Terry Scott, read Romans 13 in the Good Book. All men in public office are there by God's decision, whether good or bad, and for a reason, so accept it.
