CLARENCE R. WORKMAN

Clarence Raymond ``Tad'' Workman, 70, of the 800 block of Mowbry Court, a retired insurance agent, died May 3, 1995, in a Franklin, Va., hospital.

Mr. Workman was born in Iron Gate, Va. He retired from State Farm insurance company after 35 years, was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church and Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Moneta, Va., past president of Kempsville Meadows Men's Golf Association and Kempsville Ruritan Club, and a member of Masonic Lodge in Roanoke, Va., Khedive Shrine Temple, Norfolk, and Scottish Rites Bodies, Roanoke. He was an Army veteran of World War II and graduate of V.P.I.

Survivors include his wife, Blanche A. Workman of Moneta, Va.; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Workman of Hot Springs, Va., and Rosemary Ann Warren of Virginia Beach; a son, John Woodson and his wife, Michelle Workman, of Chesapeake; two sisters, Muriel Hambrick of Clifton Forge, Va., and Louise Mitchell of Moneta, Va.; a brother, James Workman of Russell, Ky.; and grandsons, Shelton Hunter Workman and Evan Thomas Marshall, both of Chesapeake.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Heritage United Methodist Church by the Rev. Tommy Reynolds. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to one's favorite charity.
