Earnest Marshall Salyers, 41, a resident of Doles Road, died Saturday, May 6, 1995, at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk, after a long illness. Mr. Salyers was a native of Virginia Beach and was a 1971 graduate of Kempsville High School. He retired as an assembler from Ford Motor Co., Norfolk Plant, after 17 years of service. He was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Zuni.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Pulley Salyers; a daughter, Whitney Christine Salyers; two sons, Jason Marshall Salyers and Earnest M. Salyers Jr., all of the home; his father, James E. Salyers Sr. of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Della Mae Hudson of Virginia Beach and Judy K. Hobbs of Chesapeake; a brother, James E. Salyers Jr. of Zuni; mother and father-in-law, Tom and Frances Pulley of Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews. His mother was the late Julie Bee Twiddy Salyers.
Funeral services will be held in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Zuni, on Tuesday, May 9, 1995, at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Steve Bradshaw. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, on Monday evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at the residence.
