When I read the front-page headline ``Threads of Fear Reach Virginia'' (April 30), I got very angry. I am deeply saddened by the bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City. I believe the media have a responsibility to the public to help the healing begin. You were irresponsible in the choice of your front-page story.
In contrast, the Sunday New York Times ran a front-page story titled ``A Shaken City, Ever Devout, Turns to God'' about Oklahoma City with a photograph of its bank building with lights forming a cross.
Thank God that some newspapers are promoting healing, not fear.
