Ernest Gibbs of the 1200 block of Great Bridge Blvd., died May 6, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Biggs was born in Norfolk and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Norfolk. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1982 as a technician after 37 years and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Gibbs; a daughter, Cheryl Gibbs of Chesapeake; a son, Ernest W. Gibbs of Elizabeth City, N.C.; a brother, John T. Gibbs of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Thomas Quinlin. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
