Johnnie Alton Davis, 69, of the 400 block of Franklin Drive, died May 8, 1995, in Guardian Care Nursing Home, Scotland Neck, N.C.
A native of Hertford County, N.C., he had been employed as a clerk with Hercules Chemical Co. in Franklin, Va. He was a member of Meherrin Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, American George Lodge (NU)17, Sudan Temple in New Bern and Enfield Scottish Rites.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Harrell Davis; two daughters, Myra Northcott of Ahoskie and June Davis of Murfreesboro; three brothers, Donald Davis of Woodland Hills, Calif., Wilson Davis of Waldorf, Md., and Milton Davis of Portsmouth; and a grandson.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Meherrin Baptist Church by the Rev. Billy Sellers. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Masonic rites. The family will receive friends at Garrett Funeral Home, Murfreesboro, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Merherrin Baptist Church.
