JAMES HOWARD HOLLAND

James Howard Holland, 83, of 1149 Proctor St., died April 29, 1995.

A native of Suffolk, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Mamie Harrell Holland and the widower of Mary Irene Peters Holland. Mr. Holland was a retired agent for Nationwide Insurance and a past president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church and past president of the Young Men's Class.

Survivors include his daughter, Dianne Holland Howe of Fredericksburg; two nephews, Delmar Rayburn and Robert Lee Rayburn, both of Suffolk; four grandchildren, Frederic N. Howe III of Fredericksburg, Martha Irene H. Brooks of Austin, Texas, Dianne Lorraine H. Purin and Amy Etheridge H. Wiedle, both of Naples, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. E.E Jones. Memorial donations may be made to Oxford United Methodist Church, 601 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Va. 23434. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
