Mr. John Paul Washington, age 60, formerly of Lamar Co., Ala., passed away Wednesday, May 3, 1995, in Norfolk, Va.
Mr. Washington was born May 23, 1934, in Lamar County, Ala. to John Lewis Washington and the late Stella Enoch Washington. He was a Vietnam veteran and retired from the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include a daughter, Paulette Washington of Norfolk; a sister, Clara Dawson of Hephzibal, Ga.; four brothers, Joe Washington of Vernon, Ala., Johnny Sykes of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Willie Sykes of Detroit, Mich., Harold Sykes of Brookhaven, Miss.; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 10, 1995, at 2 p.m. at the Vernon Chapel CME Church in Vernon, Ala., with burial in the Furnace Hill Cemetery, Rev. Brown officiating. Full military rites will be at the graveside. Otts Funeral Home, Sulligent, Ala., directing.
