Ben F. Artis, 84, of the 26000 block of Old Place Road, died May 5, 1995.
A native of Southampton County, he was a member of Community Fellowship Church of Deliverance in Capron.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue Artis; five daughters, Peggy Cornelius of New York, Barbara Chatman of Madera, Calif., Eleanor W. Washington of Norfolk, Martha Houston of San Jose, Calif., Bonita Walthall of Clarkesville, Tenn.; three sons, Benjamin Artis of Baltimore, James Artis of Wilmington, Del., and Melvin Artis of Capron; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Pine Level Baptist Church, Capron, by Elder Albert Evans. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Engram Funeral Home, Courtland, is handling arrangements.
