Alex Kish, 88, died May 7, 1995, in Chesapeake.
He was born in Tiszafured, Hungary, and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He was retired from McDowell County Vocational School in Welsh, W.Va., as an instructor and was also retired as a mining equipment overhaul manager from U.S. Steel. He located to West Virginia when he was five years old, lived in Wallingford, Conn., for 20 years and lived in Chesapeake for 11 years.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie R. Kish; a son, John A. Kish of Chesapeake; a brother, Frank Kish of Charleston, W.Va.; and two grandchildren, Jonathan Kish and Brian Kish, both of Chesapeake. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Carol Kish.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church by the Rev. William F. Mahon. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease & Related Disorders Foundation.
