The Elizabeth II, North Carolina's representative 16th century sailing ship, will leave its home port of Manteo on May 19 for five days to visit Engelhard.
The ship will participate in the Engelhard Seafood Festival on Saturday, May 20, then return to Manteo and reopen for tours on Wednesday, May 24.
The Elizabeth II Visitor Center on Ice Plant Island, opposite the Manteo Waterfront, will remain open while the ship is away. Visitors are invited to view exhibits and an audio-visual program on ``The Roanoke Voyage.''
