President Clinton said Tuesday he plans to nominate John White, a former Pentagon official with credentials in government and business, to be the next deputy secretary of defense.
In a statement issued at the White House, Clinton said White will be a strong addition to the Defense Department team.
White, 58, director of the Center for Business and Government at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, is also chairman of the Commission on Roles and Missions of the Armed Forces. by CNB
