W. LEON DAVIS

Walter Leon Davis, 98, of the 3000 block of Lorraine Ave., a retired supervisor with the U.S. Postal Service, died Tuesday, May 9, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.

He was born in Norfolk and was the son of the late Elizabeth Vincent and James Edward Davis. Mr. Davis was a member of First United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Navy during World War I.

Survivors include his wife, Marion Sykes Davis; a daughter, Vera D. Alexie, and her husband, the Rev. Eric R. Alexie Sr., of Norfolk; a grandson, Eric R. Alexie Jr., and his wife, Sharon, of Roanoke, Va.; and a great-granddaughter, Morgan.

A church funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 12, in First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at Cox Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. for visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, 3031 Luxembourg Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23509.
