Hattie Elizabeth Jefferies, 92, of the 1000 block of Willingham St., a retired service station attendant, died May 9, 1995, in DePaul Medical Center.
Mrs. Jefferies was born in Greenville, N.C., and was self-employed for 28 years. She was the widow of Nathan Jefferies.
Survivors include a son, Arris James Joyner of Norfolk; grandchildren, Gloria J. Smith, Cynthia J. Fayton of Chesapeake, Wanda D. Joyner, Richard Barnes of Virginia Beach, Tambra Grant of Portsmouth, Tracey Bass, Terry Richardson of Connecticut; daughter-in-law, Estella Joyner of Norfolk; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; cousins; other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church Logan Park by the Rev. Jeffrey Grant. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests and friends at 1031 Willingham St. The procession will leave this address for the church service. The remains will be placed in church at 9:30 a.m. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
