Lillie Bell Throne, of the 1700 block of Greenleaf Drive, a retired dietician, died May 7, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Throne was born in Edgecombe County, N.C., and was retired from the Norfolk School System after 13 years. She was the widow of James A. Throne and was a member of First Pentecostal United Holy Church, Campostella, president of the Usher Board, member of the Mother's Board and assistant Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include a daughter, Caletha Williams of Norfolk; nine sisters, Carrie Wiggins, Catherine Dancy, Bessie Whitehead and Lillie Bell Howard of Tarboro, N.C., Minnie Lee Whitehead, Martha Whitehead of Washington, D.C., Ella Mae Sharpe, Ollie L. Pittman and Pattie Jones of Rocky Mount, N.C.; eight brothers, James H. Whitehead, Cleveland Whitehead, Frank Whitehead, George Whitehead, Samuel Whitehead, Joe Whitehead and Junior Whitehead of Rocky Mount, N.C., and David Whitehead of Pine Top, N.C.; two grandsons, Donald Williams and Christopher Williams of Norfolk; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two uncles, Willie Boddie and Octavuis Boddie of Chesapeake; and two aunts, Elizabeth Boddie and Annie Whitehead of Rocky Mount, N.C.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in First Pentecostal United Holy Church, Campostella, by the Rev. A. Ray Rouson. Burial will be in Roosevelt Mmeorial Park. The family will assemble at 1774 Greenleaf Drive, Norfolk. Fitchett Funeral Home is in charge.
