IT'S GOD'S WAY OF SALVATION, NOT PAT'S

In ``Why some might think Pat's an anti-Semite'' (Another View, May 3) Roberta Baker used the phrase ``Mr. Robertson's exclusionist version of Christianity,'' which would lead some to believe that Pat's statements concerning the faith were his own private beliefs and not necessarily biblical.

But in comparing Pat's statements with what's recorded in Scripture, I find no contradiction. In fact, the central theme of the entire New Testament is that the only way for any human being, Jew or Gentile, to receive forgiveness of sins and peace with God is through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus said to his disciples: ``Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature; he that believes and is baptized shall be saved, and he that believes not shall be condemned.'' (Mark 16:15-16) This is not merely Pat's version; it is God's only way of salvation for all men everywhere.
