More than 2,000 students from more than 50 Virginia Beach schools
took to Atlantic Avenue last Saturday to rally against drugs. The
second Virginia Beach Schools Beachside Parade Against Drugs was led
by Sheriff Frank Drew and included bands from Kempsville, Lynnhaven,
Princess Anne, Landstown and Independence middle schools, Just Say
No Clubs, SCA groups, step teams, football players, black culture
clubs and a variety of other clubs and school groups. Mayor Meyera
Oberndorf, School Superintendent Sidney Faucette and many school
administrators, parents and Adopt A School partners also
participated. Among those enjoying the festivities was Erica Wilson,
