JAMES E. WILSON

James Edward Wilson, 77, of the 1500 block of S. Battlefield Blvd., died Wednesday, May 10, 1995.

He was the son of the late Caleb Burgess and Mamie Evans Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Army Corps of Engineers as bridge tender at Great Bridge. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Elizabeth Pugh Wilson; a stepson, Ronald Alan Broadhurst of Largo, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Margaret Dunn of Hertford, N.C.; two sisters, Lucille Schucker and Shirley Rhodes, both of Chesapeake; a brother, Caleb B. Wilson Jr. of Chesapeake; a stepgrandson, Ronald Alan Broadhurst Jr. of Largo, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A service will be conducted in the chapel of Twiford Colonial Chapel, Chesapeake, at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Johnnie McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
