Edmond Ephraim Garrett, 75, of the 100 block of North Palm Ave., went home to be with the Lord May 11, 1995.
Mr. Garrett was born in Norfolk and was a member of Thalia United Methodist Church. He was a retired brick mason and also worked for Virginia Beach Florist for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine R. Garrett; two daughters, Gladys Diggs, and husband, Linwood, and Cathy Simpson and husband, James M., of Virginia Beach; a son, Edmond E. Garrett Jr. and wife, Maureen of Salisbury Center, N.Y.; a sister, Helen G. Melvin of Virginia Beach; and four grandchildren, Jeffrey S. Diggs, Janine D. Cleveland, Amber S. Batten and Jaime R. Simpson, all of Virginia Beach. He was the son of the late Willie S. and Ella L. Garrett.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Thalia United Methodist Church by the Rev. William R. Kyle Jr. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Mr. Garrett will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Saturday.
