Carroll W. Sorey, 70, of the 400 block of Warrick Road, beloved father and husband, passed from this world to join his Lord on Thursday, May 11, 1995, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mr. Sorey was born in old Norfolk County and was the son of the late Howard Albert and Lenna Hewitt Sorey. Mr. Sorey retired from the City of Chesapeake Public Works Department after 37 years of service. He attended Unity Full Gospel Baptist Church of Chesapeake.
Survivors who love him and will cherish his memory include his wife, Hulda Martin Sorey of Chesapeake; one daughter, Carolyn Sorey Harris of Chesapeake; two sons, Howard W. Sorey of Mathews, Va., and Kevin H. Sorey of Chesapeake; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. John Hewitt. Interment will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
