Evelyn Ortiz Melendez, 35, of the 900 block of Carriage Hill Road, a domestic, died May 11, 1995, in a local hospital, after an auto accident.
She was born in New Jersey.
Survivors include her husband, Heriberto Ortiz; three daughters, Monica Gonzalez and Jeanette Eileen Ortiz, both of Virginia Beach, and Anita Gonzalez of New Jersey; a son, Hector C. Colon of Virginia Beach; her mother, Modesta Collazo Melendez of Florida; two sisters, Ivelisse Arce of Puerto Rico and Nitza Iris Corchado of Florida; and a granddaughter, Ariel Gonzalez of New Jersey. She was predeceased by her father, Miguel Melendez.
A funeral mass will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, 5345 Virginia Beach Blvd., by Father Paschal Kneip. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, today and Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
