The Lakeland High School basketball camp will run July 24-28 from 9 a.m. until noon each day. Each player will receive a T-shirt, shorts, bag and a basketball. Cost is $60. Registration forms are available at all Suffolk schools. For more information, call John Fuller at 925-5530.
SOCCER TRYOUTS: U-12 Lafayette has a girls' soccer team forming, to be coached by Sid Wesseldine. Tryouts are at Lake Taylor High School from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 5 and 6.

RED CROSS: The Salvation Army Community Center Aquatics Facility (5516 Raby Road, Norfolk) will be hosting an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) course beginning May 22. There is a $150 fee for the course, which includes the book.
The center will also be hosting the American Red Cross course ``Safety Training for Swim Coaches'' on June 10. There is a $32 fee, which includes the book.

VOLLEYBALL CAMP: The fifth annual Blue and Gold Volleyball Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on July 10-14 at Western Branch Middle School. The camp is for beginning and intermediate players ages 10-14 and features USA/CAP certified instructors, volleyball videos, camper video sessions, team play, awards and T-shirts.
Cost is $70, and a camp application and $35 deposit must be received by June 10.

TIDEWATER PRO SPORTS: TPSC will be offering the following camps this summer at Greenbrier Christian Academy:
Baseball camp for ages 7-10 on June 19-23 from 8 a.m. to noon.
Baseball camp for ages 10-12 on June 19-23 from 1 to 5 p.m.
Girls softball camp for ages 8-12 on June 24-28 from 8 a.m. to noon.
Girls softball camp for ages 13 and over on June 24-28 from 1 to 5 p.m.
Additionally, there will be a combined softball and baseball camp on July 10-14 from 8 a.m. to noon at a site to be determined.
The cost of each camp is $125 per player. Family discounts are available, and Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

BASKETBALL CAMP: Virginia Wesleyan head basketball coach Terry Butterfield will hold his fifth annual Blue Marlin Shooting camp; June 26-30, Aug. 7-11, and Aug. 14-18. Enrollment is open to all boys and girls ages 8-18. Seesions run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost: $105 per session if pre-registered, $120 if registering on first day of camp. PAUL WEBB BASKETBALL: The Paul Webb Converse All-Star Basketball Camp will offer four one-week sessions this summer. Two sessions will be held in Chesapeake: one at Western Branch Middle School, June 26-30, and the other at Great Bridge High School, July 10-14.
Boys and girls ages 7-17 are invited to enroll. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Lunch is included. Campers will be divided into groups for team and individual instruction and games.
Paul Webb, former Old Dominion basketball coach, is the camp director. His staff will include college and NBA players, selected high school coaches, and other special guests.

SOCCER CAMPS: Sonny Travis, men's soccer coach at Virginia Wesleyan College, will conduct three sessions of the Marlin Soccer Camps for boys and girls ages 8-18 this summer.
``Back of the Net'' costs $100 and runs July 10-14. ``Advanced Day Camp'' costs $165 (including lunch) and runs July 17-21. ``Mariners Week'' is July 24-28 and is open to ages 6-18 at a cost of $150.
