BRUCE D'ESTE FLAGGE

Bruce d'Este Flagge, 69, a resident of Marlbank Farms in Yorktown, died May 12, 1995.

Born in Norfolk, Mr. Flagge moved to the Peninsula in 1952. He was the son of Howard Avery and Kathryn Baldwin Flagge of Norfolk. A graduate of Maury High School, Virginia Military Institute and the University of Virginia, Mr. Flagge was also a veteran of WW II and Korea. He retired in 1986 from NACA/NASA after 39 years of Federal service. He was a member of Yorktown Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, choir member and teacher.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Phipps Flagge, three daughters, Kathryn Simmons of Norfolk, Elizabeth Barrett and Susan Bunting of Gloucester; eight grandchildren, and a brother, William Lawrence Flagge of Mobile, Alabama.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 15, at 10:00 a.m. in Yorktown Baptist Church, Yorktown, with Rev. Donald P. Stroud and Rev. Dra S. Thompson.

The family will receive their friends following the service in the church social hall.

The family requests that memorials be given to the York County Library, 8500 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown 23692, or Yorktown Baptist Church, Nelson Street, Yorktown 23690. Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, is in charge of arrangements.
