Margaret Richardson Newport, 84, died of pneumonia May 13, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Newport was born Dec. 10, 1910, in Hampton, Va., and was a long-time resident of Norfolk.
Survivors include a son, Rear Admiral Robert Clarke Austin Sr., USN Retired of Alexandria; four grandchildren, Susan Ebdon of Shelton, Conn., James H. Austin of Ledyard, Conn., Robert C. Austin Jr. of Newport News and Cecelia Noorvoy of Monterey, Calif.; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Rosewood Memorial Park by the Rev. Peter Magill. Arrangements by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville chapel.
