Doris Virginia Major, 82, died May 13, 1995, in Portsmouth.
Miss. Major, a native of Portsmouth, was retired after 42 years as a Deputy Clerk with the Circuit Courts of the City of Portsmouth. She was a member of Court Street Baptist Church, Ruth Bible Class, and Norfolk-Portsmouth Area Legal Secretary Association and Richard Dales Womens Club. She was a voluntary with Portsmouth General Hospital and Portsmouth Museums.
Survivors include a brother, Charles M. Major of Naples, Fla.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, by Dr. L. Wilbur Kersey, in Olive Branch Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to The Living Endowment for the Missions, Court Street Baptist Church. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at 301 Amelia Ave., the home of Cindy and Mike Pauler. Foster Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
