Mary Kathleen ``Kitty'' Ward Knowles, 76, of Boone, formerly of Watha, died Saturday, May 13, 1995, at Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw.
Born in Nassawadox, Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert ``Bob'' and Mary Chandler Ward. She was the widow of Eudie Marion Knowles and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harold ``Barbara'' Benton of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sons, Glenn Knowles and his wife, Marie, of Boone, and Dean Knowles and his wife, Ande, of Watha; one granddaughter, Anna Knowles of Newbury, England; and two grandsons, Chad Benton of Winston-Salem and Brian Benton of Virginia Beach.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Padgett Funeral Chapel, Wallace, N.C., by the Rev. Timothy Flint. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha, N.C..
Casketbearers will be Mike Batts, Ronnie Ward, Jim Benton, Bobby Knowles, Livvie Knowles and Walter Ray Scott.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Knowles, 8628 Mary Slocum Road S.W., Watha, N.C., at other times.
