Irving Junius White, 69, of the 100 block of Porter Circle, went to be with the Lord on May 14, 1995.
He was born in Corapeake, N.C., and was a Christian. Mr. White was retired as an auto body technician and manager of White's Auto Frame and Repair, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Carter White; a daughter, Ruby White Podolski of Virginia Beach; three sons, Irving C. ``Butch'' White of Suffolk, Jerry L. White Sr. of Brunswick, Maine, Billy R. White Sr. of Charlottesville, Va.; a sister, Virginia White Carter of Portsmouth; a brother, James Ray White of Suffolk; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was the son of the late Bessie Byrum White and Emmitt Clyde White.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. David Nicholes and the Rev. Byron McCreary. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may join the family in the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today and other times in the residence. Memorial donations may be made to Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O.
