MAY BELL WHITTINGTON

Mrs. May Bell Whittington, 68, died Friday, May 12, 1995, in Cabarrus Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Whittington was born in Rowan County, N.C., and was the daughter of Mrs. Ida Goodman of China Grove and the late W.T. Goodman. She was employed by Cannon Mills and was a member of Calvary Foursquare Church.

Survivors include her husband, James ``Shad'' Manuel Whittington; one daughter, Mrs. Eva W. Self of Hopkinsville, Ky.; three sons, James M. Whittington Jr. of Norfolk, Ted W. Whittington of Concord, N.C., and William Harold Whittington of Woodlawn, Tenn.; six sisters, Mrs. Margie Patterson, Mrs. Carrie Reevis, Mrs. Delma Smith, Mrs. Ruth Irvin, Mrs. Edna Hunter, all of China Grove, N.C., and Mrs. Hazel Corrier of Landis, N.C.; one brother, Leroy Goodman of China Grove, N.C.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday at 2 p.m. in Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel with burial at West Concord Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Rodney Quesenberry and Rev. Rick Wilson officiating.

Wilkinson Funeral Home handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Foursquare Church, 282 Linden Ave. S.W. Concord, N.C. 28027.
